The ATS solution ABB Automatic Transfer Switch system (ATS) takes advantage of the new capabilities provided by the new Ekip Connect 3 Software with intelligent digi- tal units such as the Tmax XT to deliver versatile and reliable solutions. Application example Automatic transfer switch systems are common in all applications where service continuity is essen- tial and where there are multi source supplies.
The main applications are: • Power supplies of UPS groups • Oil & Gas
• Operating theatres and primary hospital services • Emergency power supplies for civil buildings, hotels and airports • Data banks and telecommunication systems • Power supply of industrial line for continuous pro- cesses. An ATS can be used also whenever a portion of a grid with local generation, known as a microgrid, can be disconnected from the main grid.
