— Power Controller
Emax 2 is able to control both loads and generators to optimize energy costs for end users.
Purpose Power Controller software enable Emax 2 to man- age power to shaving the peaks and shifting loads making. It possible to reduce electricity bills, in- crease energy efficiency up to 20% and be ready for demand response programs. The Power Con- troller function is based on a patented calculation algorithm that allows a load list to be controlled through the remote command of the relevant switching device (such as switching device, con- tactor, drive) or control circuit according to a pri- ority defined locally by the user or remotely by a load aggregator or utility, based on user require- ments and types of load.
The algorithm is designed on average power ab- sorption which can be set by the user over a deter- mined time interval. Whenever this value exceeds the fixed power, the Power Controller function in- tervenes to bring it back within the limits. This management can be accomplished with a sin- gle Emax 2 Control or Emax 2 Control+ standard equipped with this function and installed as the low voltage plant controller. Furthermore, the control unit, not only commands the passive loads, it can also manage a reserve generator.
